Does Social Quality Make Farmers Happier?

The "three rural" issue is related to the national economy and the people’s livelihood,and is an important part of building a well-off society in an all-round way.Therefore,solving the "three rural" issue for a long time has been the focus of the work of the party and the government.Therefore,the 19 th National Congress put forward the strategy of Rural Revitalization.As an important stratum of our society,farmers are the important beneficiaries of the strategy of Rural Revitalization.Xi Jinping has also made important instructions to stress the need to build a beautiful and livable countryside,so that the majority of farmers will have more sense of well-being in Rural Revitalization.Therefore,the well-being of farmers deserves special attention.The "Social Quality Theory" was first proposed by EU scholars in the late 1990 s.Its original intention was to reverse the situation of Europe’s excessive pursuit of economic growth and neglect of social well-being.The theory of social quality emphasizes the "social" orientation in the development process and regards society as an organized whole.In other words,the social quality theory focuses on the livelihood issues and provides a theoretical basis for the livelihood issues.Based on the theoretical perspective of social quality,this paper analyzes the influencing factors of farmers’ happiness and provides targeted policy recommendations.First of all,through reviewing the literature,the author has a comprehensive grasp of the origin,development and future direction of the concept of social quality;then,consult a number of books about the subject,and categorize the interpretations on the influencing factors of happiness in the existing literature.Secondly,empirical research data was obtained in the form of questionnaires and interviews.The process is as follows: average analysis is carried out on the four dimensions of social quality,and then the four dimensions of social quality are analyzed in relation to the happiness of farmers.Finally,the four dimensions of social quality and the happiness of farmers are analyzed by regression analysis,and the test of robustness is obtained to obtain the final result..The research results show that some dimensions of social economic security have positive correlations with farmers’ happiness.Among them,housing security,employment stability,and education security have significant positive impacts on farmers’ well-being.The dimensions of social cohesion have a positive correlation with the farmers’ sense of well-being.The accessibility of economic status in the dimension of social empowerment is positively correlated with the freedom of political participation and the happiness of farmers.According to the analysis results,the government should establish and improve the social security mechanism,a fair social policy system,strengthen the construction of rural spiritual civilization,improve the public participation mechanism in the social policy process,and improve farmers’ well-being.
