A Research On Entertainment Of Public Issues In The Short Video Platforms

As Internet technology develops,the media environment,who changes quickly,gradually turns from traditional media into new media era.A new media platform provides the public with a greater space for self-expression and free speech,where the public can gather to discuss and express opinions on issues of general interest in order to seek satisfactory solutions to public issues.Compared with traditional media,the new media platform gives the general public the opportunity to construct the public issues,and provides a broader development space for the public issues.In recent years,the short video platform has emerged,also become the gathering platform of public issues,but through observation,it is often found that the short video related to public issues appear in the face of entertainment,so in this case,whether the short video platform can bear the responsibility of discussion and dissemination is worthy of further explorationThis paper takes haze issue for example,and uses the quantitative and qualitative method to carry on the related research,with the purpose of seeking the reason and the significance about public issues’ entertainment phenomenon,and puts forward the pertinence suggestion accordingly.Haze,as a long-standing environmental crisis known to the public,has always been high in public opinion,so it is typical and representative as the research object.at the same time,there are a large number of haze videos on Tik Tok and Kuai APP,which provide sufficient samples for the research.Through the research,it is found that the reason for the phenomenon of entertainment on public issues is not only caused by the entertainment attribute of the short video platform,the visual consumption habit,but also related to the cultural guidance of the government,the awakening of public consciousness and resistance.At the same time,this paper also notes that the risk and value of this entertainment phenomenon coexist,so it is necessary to grasp the degree of entertainment,and for short video platform,it is a good space for the dissemination of public issues,but should not stop at this point,but should focus on the discussion space that has been explored as a public topic.
