Study On The Influence Of Inter-generational Support Of Children On The Quality Of Life Of The Elderly In China

With the development of social economy,the public's pursuit of quality of life and personal health has gradually expanded,not limited to physical health.With the expansion of the word "quality of life" from the connotation of medical field to the connotation of social culture field,people's attention to the quality of life has gradually changed from the basic physical and mental health to the spiritual needs,social participation needs,material and cultural needs of individuals on the basis of meeting these two points.The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of children's intergenerational support on the quality of life of the elderly,so as to enrich the theoretical research on the quality of life of the elderly;to clarify the ways of children's intergenerational support,and to effectively improve the quality of life of the elderly,to better improve the effectiveness of the whole society,to adjust the layout of social capital,children's investment,medical facilities and other aspects,and to improve the social response to the aging problem.Ability.Considering the endogenous problems between the intergenerational support of children and the quality of life of the elderly,the intergenerational support of children discussed in this paper refers to the children of the first generation.In the research process,the instrumental variable method is used to avoid the deviation results.Based on the theory of active aging and the theory of health needs,this paper constructs the intergenerational support of children as an independent variable by using the micro database of Charles in 2013,and divides the intergenerational support into two dimensions:economic support and care support.On the basis of theoretical analysis,taking into account the wide coverage of Charles database,the special survey for the elderly,and the high degree of agreement with this study,this paper uses the data of Charles(2013)to build intergenerational support,Chinese elderly quality of life variables,and explore the impact of children's intergenerational support on the quality of life of the elderly(causal relationship).Research findings:(1)Providing intergenerational economic support and child care support has a significant positive impact on the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly.Under the control of endogenous problems,intergenerational economic support and child care support can significantly improve the quality of life of the elderly.(2)There are differences in the effectiveness of intergenerational economic support and child care support in improving the quality of life of the elderly.Children's intergenerational economic support is better than children's intergenerational care support in improving the overall quality of life,mobility,self-care ability,daily activity ability and pain/discomfort of the elderly;children's intergenerational care support is better than children's intergenerational economic support in improving the anxiety/depression of the elderly.(3)When children provide the same level of intergenerational support,demographic characteristics have different effects on the quality of life of the elderly.Age has a significant impact on the total index of quality of life of the elderly and the index of all dimensions;gender has a significant impact on the total index of quality of life of the elderly,action ability,self-care ability,pain/discomfort,anxiety/depression(the elderly with spouse and the elderly male have better performance on the total index of EQ-5D and the index of dimensions);education level,education.The higher the age,the better the performance of EQ-5D total index and fractal index.(4)When children provide the same level of intergenerational support,social and economic factors have a significant impact on the quality of life of the elderly.The elderly who participate in social activities have a better improvement in the total index of quality of life and five dimensional index.(5)When children provide the same level of intergenerational support,chronic disease,disability and last month's illness have negative effects on the total index of quality of life and five dimensional index of the elderly.According to the conclusion of this study,this study suggests to improve the quality of life of the elderly by adjusting their children's economic support,times of care,and ways of caring for their parents,so as to improve the level of health utility of the elderly.The innovations of this study are as follows:(1)on the topic selection,this study focuses on the only utility value integration system based on the mainland of China-EQ-5D utility value China tto integration system,and uses a high reliability scale to measure the quality of life of the elderly,making the research results more objective.(2)the problem of endogeneity,which has been paid less attention to in the past,has been dealt with,which makes it possible to identify the causal relationship between children's intergenerational support and the quality of life of the elderly.(3)the research objects are widely representative.The shortcomings of this study are as follows:(1)When I select the children's intergenerational support dimensions,there is no further study on children's intergenerational emotional support dimensions due to the characteristics of the charls2013 database questionnaire;(2)In the selection of samples,in view of the use of EQ-5D five-dimensional scale to measure the quality of life of the elderly,we choose the charls2013 database samples,because the database update is slow,can we conclude the study?It needs to be further explored that the theory can be better extended to all research groups,that is,the representativeness of research time.
