China-Pakistan Security Relations:the CPEC As A Stabilizing Project

In the eve of the 9/11 attacks,the Afgh-Pak region received the attention of the whole International Community as one of the most unstable areas and greatest sources of terrorism in the world In this framework,my research can be understood as a detailed analysis of the US security approach in the Region until 2013 in comparison with the increasing Chinese engagement from 2013 until nowadays.While the US stance,based on Compellence and Deterrence resulted counterproductive in order to persuade Islamabad in altering its support towards militancy,the Holistic Security Approach implemented by China with the arrival of Xi Jinping and the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative,is showing the first good outcomes.The work aims to demonstrate how China through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor,as the flagship project of the whole BRI,is giving to Islamabad the right incentives in order to cooperate in the counter-terrorism field The CPEC,as a long term developing strategy,is considered as a "do-or-die" situation for Pakistan,but its successful implementation relies on a secure domestic and regional environment.Being the Sino-Pak interests at stake conspicuous,this is the reason why from 2013 the security cooperation between the two countries sharply improved.
