On The Thought Of Confucius’ Moral Education And Its Contemporary Value

General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed at the 19 th CPC National Congress to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese traditional culture.In addition,some immoral and uncivilized phenomena in today’s society also need our attention.On this basis,Confucius’ thought of moral education has profound reference and practical significance for us to solve the problems in today’s moral education and to carry forward and innovate the excellent traditional culture.This paper mainly summarizes the historical background,ideological basis and theoretical basis of Confucius’ moral education thought,and combs the system of Confucius’ moral education thought,including the purpose,method and principle of moral education.Through the study of Confucius’ moral education thought,it is concluded that its core thought is "benevolence","etiquette" as moral norm,"sage" and "gentleman" as ideal personality.In the content of moral education,it puts forward the ideas of benevolence,righteousness,courtesy,mean,filial piety,loyalty and forgiveness,puts forward the methods of teaching in accordance with their aptitude,self-examination,and seeing the wise and so on,and puts forward the principle of equality and unity of knowledge and practice in moral education.And pay attention to the subjectivity and so on.This paper makes an evaluation on the thought of the moral education of Confucius from the front and back,and sums up the contemporary value and the enlightenment of the thought of the Confucius’ moral education to the construction of the harmonious society,the school moral education and the construction of the moral education.And summed up the corresponding countermeasures,should continue to promote the socialist moral construction,carry forward the excellent traditional culture,improve the basic moral accomplishment of citizens,promote the construction of civic morality;It is necessary to strengthen personal moral education,promote the task of establishing morality,attach importance to moral education in schools,and give full play to the role of moral education,so as to promote the overall quality of citizens and the progress and development of society.
