Study On The Status Of Social Participation Of The Elderly And Its Influencing Factors From The Perspective Of Gender

The degree of social participation of the elderly is closely related to the quality of life in their later years,at present,the degree of aging is deepening,the burden of social support is increasing,and various social problems are also coming.The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party pointed out:We must actively respond to the aging of the population,build a policy system for pension,filial piety,respect for the elderly and the social environment,promote the integration of medical care,and accelerate the development of old age and industry.At present,China’s first report on the development of population aging-"The New Era actively responds to the report on population aging(201 8)",on October 24,2018,it was officially released at the 2018 Academic Conference of the Chinese Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics,Liu Weilin,president of the conference,said that aging is the basic national condition that runs through China’s development in the 21st century,actively responding to population aging is also a long-term development strategy.Social participation is an important channel for the elderly to achieve self-worth in the old age,and is a lubricant to solve the problem of aging and promote the coordinated development of society.This paper studies the differences between the elderly in social participation activities from the perspective of gender,and uses the sample of the 11th sample of urban and rural elderly in China in the sample survey of Anhui Province,based on activity theory,needs hierarchy theory,social capital theory,and social sentiment choice theory,using chi-square analysis,binary logistic and multi-logistic model analysis,five main influencing variables were introduced to identify key influencing factors affecting the differences in social participation status between male and female elderly people.Of course,only in objective practice can we verify the research we have done,and an example of a community in urban and rural areas in Hefei and Lu’an in Anhui Province,conducting on-the-spot interviews with the elderly in the community,and further veri fying the theoretical analysis.Through a dual analysis of theory and evidence,the study found that in family clan activities,social activities and political community activities,there are obvious gender differences in the elderly.Through the Multi-logistic model analysis,it is concluded that health status is the most important factor affecting the social participation of the elderly,the type of household registration has a significant impact on the participation of women in the social activities of the elderly,the economic status has no significant impact on the social participation activities of the female elderly,the educational level and the livable environment have different effects on the social participation of the elderly.The above is the result of regression analysis,but through interviews,it is found that the elderly’s own ideas have a great influence on the state of social participation,especially female elderly people.Therefore,only the combination of theory and empirical can draw conclusions close to the facts.According to the above problems,this study proposes relevant countermeasures from five aspects,first of all,from the perspective of the elderly themselves,they are divided into two points.The first is to change the concept and enhance the participation of women in the elderly,female cognition limitations of female elders should encourage them to leave the family and enhance their confidence in participating in social activities;Second,we must promote the participation of female elders in family clan and political community activities.Due to the limitations of their own cognition,female elders should encourage them to leave the family and enhance their confidence in participating in social activities.Then from the perspective of society and government,first,integrate resources and build a community support network.The community is the main place for social activities of the elderly,fully integrate community resources,and create a good community support environment for the elderly;Second,the household registration reform is committed to narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas.The existence of the household registration system has hindered the social participation activities of rural elderly people,and efforts should be made to narrow the gap and create more opportunities for social participation for rural elderly;Third,dredge channels,give play to the positive role of the government,improve the health protection system,and encourage older people to participate in social participation activities through legislation or policy recommendations.It is the main purpose of this study to recognize that there are obvious gender differences in the social participation of the elderly and to solve problems,establish a positive concept of old age,and strive to improve the quality of life of the elderly.To enable the elderly to exert their residual heat while improving their own health level,and to contribute to the harmonious development of the elderly themselves and society.
