People-centered Development Thought:Generating Logic,Value Implication And Practical Path

Development is the eternal theme of human society and the basis for the continuous progress of human society.However,there are different understandings about what development is centered on and what kind of development is good.The report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly points out that"we must adhere to the people-centered development idea and constantly promote the all-round development of human beings and the common prosperity of all the people."^[1]Since its establishment,the Communist Party of China has taken the supremacy of the people as its fundamental position and serving the people as its fundamental purpose.The people-centered development thought is a profound interpretation of the fundamental position of people supremacy and the fundamental purpose of serving the people.As the core idea of Xi Jinping’s socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era,the people-centered development thought contains profound Marxist theoretical origin,deeply rooted in the reality of our socialist construction,contains the logic of the development of Marxism in China,has profound practical implications,and answers the questions of why,who and by whom to develop.The title,endowed with more profound new connotations by the new era,embodies the development logic of Marxism and demonstrates the plain quality and responsibility of the Chinese Communists who are concerned with the people.Adhering to the people-centered development thought can help us understand Xi Jinping’s socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era more profoundly in theory and enrich and develop the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics better.In practice,it is conducive to giving full play to the guiding role of the people-centered development thought and guiding the great practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics better.The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation now provides a solid foundation for the Chinese dream.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is to elaborate the background and significance of the topic,the current situation at home and abroad,research ideas and methods,as well as innovations and shortcomings.The second part mainly elaborates the main content and basic characteristics of the people-centered development thought.That is,what does this idea include and what are its characteristics?Through the analysis of its connotation system and the background of the times,this thought is profoundly analyzed with the characteristics of the times,extensiveness and authenticity.The third part mainly elaborates the generating logic of the people-centered development thought.The people-centered thought is not put forward in vain,it has profound theoretical origins.Rooted in the long-standing and profound Chinese traditional culture,it has absorbed the excellent fruits of Chinese ancient people-oriented thought;absorbed the rational core of Engels’people-oriented thought;borrowed Lenin’s people-oriented thought;inherited and developed the people-oriented thought of successive CPC leaders.From a historical point of view,this paper analyses the theoretical origin of this idea.The fourth part mainly elaborates the value implication of people-centered development thought from two aspects of theoretical value and practical significance.The fifth part mainly elaborates the practical path of people-centered development thought from five aspects:economy,politics,culture,society and ecology.
