Social Support Research For The Left-behind Elderly In Baoan Rural Areas

With the rapid transformation and urbanization process in China,the number of rural youth who go out to work is increasing,what followed was the emergence of more left-behind old people.The left-behind old man is a group created by this era,the living environment in which they live and the old-age problems they have faced have been a problem that we need to solve.Although there has been more research on social support for rural left-behind elderly at home and abroad,however,the study of rural left-behind elderly people in ethnic minority areas is quite scarce.In order to explore the issue of social support in minority areas and even in rural areas,this paper analyzes and studies the social support needed by the Baoan left-behind elderly through interviews and observations.After research,it is found that the security guards left behind the elderly generally have low economic income,the land security function is retired,mainly rely on a small amount of subsidies from the state and the economic supply provided by the children after going out to work;The elderly who have chronic diseases themselves are not very likely to use the new rural health insurance,mainly rely on themselves and their children to bear relatively high medical expenses;Life care mainly depends on self-care or mutual care between spouses,very little will be taken care of by relatives in the neighborhood,old people who have left-behind grandchildren in their homes also need to take responsibility for the care of their grandchildren;In addition,due to the influence of traditional culture and local customs,leisure and entertainment life is more traditional,older women are more susceptible to more constraints and restrictions,their daily entertainment life is mainly carried out at home.At the same time,the children who go out rarely communicate with these left-behind old people.They lack the object of chatting and talking,which causes most of the left-behind old people to be lonely and lonely.The reasons for these problems are:First of all,the old people have limited economic conditions,low income,and large medical expenses for diseases;The change of the traditional family mode has degraded the function of family pension,and the gradual emergence of filial cultural concepts after the children have gone out;The relevant policies are imperfect,and the strength and weakness of social organization are weak,and the influence of its own traditional culture and regional customs.
