Research On Influence Of The Living Pattern On Elderly People's Social Support In Poverty

At present,China has entered the high speed aging period.The number of elderly people over the age of 60 in China was 231 million until 2016,accounting for 16.7%of the total population.It is the largest population aging country in the world,and also one of the fastest growing countries in the world.Secondly,the family size of our country has a shrinking trend,and the arrangement for the elderly population to live alone is increasing.According to the sixth national census data,in 2010,in the 401 million 900 thousand families of the whole country,the proportion of family living arrangements was only an elderly person or an elderly couple were account for half.More and more old people choose to live alone.However,elderly people in our country mainly rely on family support at present,accepting material support and life care by children.So what is the basic living condition and social support status of these elderly people living alone?In this essay,use the data of?complete the social assistance system research?and the social support theory as the research framework,adding medical and health as the other measurement dimension.Select the 60 years old and above poor elderly population as the research object,take the way of living as the core variable,take gender,residence,age,marital status and education level as the control variables.Using quantitative research method,we studied the support of the poor elderly in different levels of living in four levels of economic status,life care,emotional comfort and medical health.According to the data analysis,we get the following conclusions:on the dimension of economic support,there is a significant positive correlation between the way of living and the total family income and housing status.Compared to the poor elderly living alone,those living with families have higher total income and better housing condition.On the dimension of life care,there is a significant correlation between the way of living and the expenditure of the poor elderly in terms of diet,clothing and transportation.Compared to the poor elderly living with family members,the elderly who live alone do not pay more for food,clothing and transportation.On the dimension of spiritual comfort,there is a significant positive correlation between the living style and the poor elderly's satisfaction with family relations.On the dimension of medical and health dimension,and the ways of living of poor elderly people suffering from chronic disease and the degree of worry on pension issues have a significant positive correlation,compared to the poor elderly living alone,not alone the poor elderly suffering from chronic disease are less likely to ask questions,and to a lower degree of concern pension.According to the results of data analysis,puts forward suggestions from three aspects of family,community and social policies respectively.At the household,calling the children to care for their parents and provide emotional comfort and psychological sense of security.At the community,providing elderly people care and protection as family mode.At the social policy,the government and companies should in favor of children provide care to their parent,for example,give subsidy to staffs who need to care for their parents.
