Analysis Of The Living Situation Of Sanitation Workers Under Empowerment Theory

Along with the social civilization progress and from all walks of life,more and more attention to vulnerable groups,there are a large amounts of sanitation workers in the city,and the sanitation workers face various degrees of problems about their life and work,such as high pressure from family economic life,damaging health equity,the deficient of social life,the insufficiency of security rights,the lack of legal consciousness,out of urban sense of belonging.These are all survival predicaments that sanitation workers often faced,that is a sign of "lose power",which made the workers become vulnerable groups in society.So it is necessary and meaningful to pay great attention and take action to improve their living state.Based on the Empowerment Theory,taking the XX project of Shen Zhen as an example,through making literature review,questionnaire survey,interviews,participatory observation and other methods to collect data,analyze the existing situation and problems of sanitation workers,and under the guidance of the Empowerment Theory,from the personal,interpersonal and social participation level of the practice of Empowerment Theory to use case work,group work and community work methods to carry out aid practice.Then,analyzing the service effectiveness of Empowerment Theory,and rethinking the difficulties and problems in the service.Finally,this paper,from the perspective of empowerment practice,puts forward suggestions and solutions which include strengthening the social work theory and method of application,improving the power of the individual feeling and sense of belonging,as well as mobilizing all social resources so as to improve the living conditions of sanitary workers.Empowerment Theory involved in the research of sanitation workers aims to provide the theoretical support and practical experience for the social work to improve living conditions of sanitation workers,and to improve the project both in practice and in theory.
