| First,this paper introduces the concept of euphemisms in works written by Russian,Chinese and native English-speaking scientists,along with the analysis of the reasons of their appearance and their role in intercultural communication.On this basis,it analyses peculiarities of their usage in these three languages.It then divides them into main several groups from the point of practical usage.The paper summarizes the similarities and differences of modern Russian,Chinese and English euphemisms.Next,after completing the comparison analysis,the paper details which groups of euphemisms existing in these three languages differ the most,assuming semantic and expressive aspects.Based on the above analysis,it reflects the level of mastery of Chinese euphemisms based on the results of the questionnaire survey which was completed by 90 Chinese learners with a Russian or English-speaking language background.According to the analysis of the statistics based on the questionnaire results,we summarized the types of errors in euphemism usage and the frequency of mistakes in each defined euphemism group and the reasons for their appearance.On this basis,the paper overviewed the practice of teaching euphemisms and made suggestions when teaching them to foreign students.We hope that this paper can solve problems of language learners with a Russian or English language background when they learn Chinese euphemisms and related topics.It can help learners to master them faster,and to enrich and improve the Russian-English Chinese teaching system. |
