Self-repair is common in interpretation.Interpretation must be done in a short time on the scene, therefore interpreters cannot do it with considerable deliberation and the interpretation is certainly not that fluent.Self-repair has its pros and cons: on the one hand, interpreters can correct themselves in time and improve their language;on the other hand, frequent self-repair affects the fluency of interpretation and hinders audiences from understanding the speaker, and even sometimes lowers the quality of interpretation.Hence,self-repair is chosen as the subject of this thesis. The hope is that this thesis can offer some guidance for study and work in the future. This thesis is based on the Covid-19 and Refugees Mock Conference. In this conference,The interpreter did English to Chinese consecutive interpretation. After analysis,it was found out that there are three kinds of self-repair in my interpretation: appopriacy repair, failed repair and different information repair. And they result in repetition, mistakes, pause and many other problems, which greatly impair the quality of my interpretation.Through further analysis,it was found out that theese problems are mainly caused by note-taking,listening comprehension and Chinese proficiency. In the end of this thesis, strategies are proposed from three aspects respectively to solve the self-repair problem.
