This report analyzes the author’s interpreting practice for the Capacity Maturity Model Integration(CMMI)Level 3 appraisal. After referring to the classification of interpretation errors proposed by Barik(1971),the author came up with her own analytical framework that fits this practice. Then, the author looked into and evaluated the errors in the interpreting assignment and attempted to identify their causes and solutions. The author found the following types of errors in her interpreting:compounding omissions and skipping omissions for omissions, qualifier additions, relationship additions, closure additions for additions and mild semantic errors, gross semantic errors, mild phrasing changes, and substantial phrasing changes for substitutions.Errors are mainly caused by difficulties in identifying and comprehending information and a lack of domain knowledge.By describing and analyzing the errors, the author aims to set out key areas for future practice and interpreting assignments with the hope of offering pedagogical insights into interpreting.
