How To Perform Gods

The Hongcheng Shigong opera troupe in Yongdeng County,Gansu Province is a local folk art performance group with a long history.For more than 100 years,they have performed almost unchanged programs,but they are very popular among the local people.In the past four years,the author has found many interesting or thought-provoking things in this troupe through a follow-up survey of this group.At different stages of the investigation,the author's focus on the troupe was different:initially focused on singing,then on performance,then later on to find a way to explain the performance,and then on their economic life and development prospects.After collecting all these materials,the author found that they can be unified in a frame,all these materials are important parts of their troupe research.Through the study of the composition,beliefs,props,content of the Shigong troupe and their current situation,The author wants to show the charm and plight of these rural artists.
