A Study On The Animal And Plant Popular Science Painting In The "Shanxi Herbal Medicine" Of Shi Bingyou

Popular science painting of animals and plants is a special form of painting combining art and science.This paper takes the traditional meticulous painting of flowers and birds as a clue to draw popular science painting of animals and plants.The research object is the herbal Atlas of“Shanxi herbal medicine”.In the book,Shi Bingyou,the author of 302 popular science paintings of native Chinese herbal medicine in Shanxi Province,draws according to the original plant,animal or mineral forms,medicinal materials and pieces of Decoction with the brush and ink techniques of traditional Chinese painting.Not only accurately reproduce the scientific nature of the animals and plants described,but also reflect the living environment and growth state of the animals and plants in the picture,so as to guide people’s identification,collection and utilization.There are four parts in the study.In the first chapter,the author makes a preliminary study of the generation and evolution of popular science paintings of animals and plants from Tang Dynasty to the founding of the people’s Republic of China;the background of the book of “Shanxi herbal medicine” and the artistic life of the author of popular science paintings.The second chapter summarizes the accuracy,innovation and time characteristics of the animal and plant popular science painting of “Shanxi herbal medicine”.The third chapter focuses on three aspects of composition,modeling and color setting to discuss the artistry of animal and plant popular science painting of Shanxi herbal medicine,and analyzes the artistry of using traditional meticulous flower and bird painting.The fourth chapter discusses the function,value and significance of the animal and plant popular science paintings drawn by Shi Bingyou in various academic fields.This paper uses four research methods: interview method,image analysis method,comparative analysis method and interdisciplinary analysis method to discuss the animal and plant popular science painting of Shanxi Chinese herbal medicine drawn by Shi Bingyou,expand the thinking andfield of national painting research,enrich the connotation of meticulous flower and bird painting inheritance,display the academic achievements of fine medical popular science painting,and reveal the alignment of animal and plant popular science painting The dissemination,inheritance and development of medical knowledge.
