This practical report is carried out in the form of simulated simultaneous interpretation, and uses the recording of the speech "Front line of pyramid research" in the NHK cultural lecture series by the speaker archaeologist Mr.Yukinori Kawae as the practical material for the Japanese-Chinese simultaneous interpretation practice, under the guidance of the principle of "Syntactic Linearity".The content of the practical material is the archaeologists introduce their team's exploration of the mystery of how the Pyramid is constructed in Egypt by using advanced technology, and contains a lot of Egyptian history, architecture, advanced scanning technology and other fields of content, which is professional and poplar and has great value in the field of interpretation. At the same time, the speech involves a large number of professional vocabulary and foreign words, the corpus is very rich, and there is no reference to the original manuscript,so it is difficult to interpret. Therefore,it is appropriate to use the material to test the quality of interpretation under the guidance of the "Syntactic Linearity" principle."Syntactic Linearity" principle is one of the basic principles of simultaneous interpretation. In the process of simultaneous interpretation, the interpreter cuts the whole sentence into several meaning groups or information units according to the sentence order of the source language, and then uses appropriate connectives to connect the meaning groups together and interpret them into the target language. This principle helps reduce the memory load of translators and is widely used in the practice of English-Chinese interpretation. In this report, the principle is applied to the specific scenario of Japanese-Chinese simultaneous interpretation. The problems encountered in the practice are summarized and analyzed, and the limitations of the application of the "Syntactic Linearity" principle inJapanese-Chinese simultaneous interpretation are made. And the report makes some conclusions, hoping to provide reference for other interpreters to apply this principle in the context of Japanese-Chinese simultaneous interpretation.
