Teaching materials are of great importance to teaching Chinese to foreigners.A teacher arranges one’s grammar,vocabulary,characters and culture teaching according to the chosen books.The chosen books can have a great impact on how students master the needed knowledge.Teaching materials help a lot in preparing for the HSK exam.Even though not every teaching book aims at preparing students for the HSK exam,but in some sense it does provide some help.Every book includes vocabulary,characters,grammar and even culture knowledge that students must master.The new HSK exam is becoming a more and more important exam.If foreign students want to study in China,they must pass the exam.So far,people who are looking for a job related to the Chinese language in Russia usually need to have the HSK exam results.It has its logic behind,because the new HSK exam mainly examines the skills of non-native Chinese speakers to communicate in various environment such as work,study or every day life.Because of the fact that the new HSK exam is becoming of greater importance,making a research on the correlation of teaching materials and the new HSK exam is extremely important.Most of the Chinese learners in Russia take the new HSK exam,so this paper will study if the books used in Novosibirsk State University help them to pass the new HSK exam.This paper is based on researching three Chinese books: T.Zadoenko,Huang Shuying ?Basic Chinese.Volume II?,N.Demina,Zhu Kangji ?The Chinese language.The regional conditions of China?,?New practical Chinese reader.Volume 4?(Russian edition).Among those three books,?Basic Chinese.Volume II? and ?The Chinese language.The regional conditions of China? are the books that were written in co-operation of Soviet and Chinese authors.?Basic Chinese.Volume II? and ?The Chinese language.The regional conditions of China? are the main teaching materials,with ?New practical Chinese reader.Volume 4?(Russian edition)being an additional one.This paper will take ?The outline of the new HSK exam level IV? and ?International curriculum for Chinese language education? as criteria for our analysis and comparison of the vocabulary,grammar and culture content of the three books to the requirements of the new HSK exam level IV.Thus,we are going to find out if these three books meet the requirements of the two outlines related to the HSK IV,if they help students to pass the new HSK.We will also look into some shortcomings of the books and make some suggestions on their improvements.The topic that we are studying has not attracted a lot of attention of the scholars yet.In Russia,there are only several superficial articles on the teaching materials used by Russian universities,and those articles mainly introduce some materials without analyzing them.Until now there has not been written any paper on the correlation of the Chinese books used in Russia and the new HSK exam.The teaching materials that we base our research on are commonly used in many Russian universities.This paper is the first try to analyze how much the teaching books correspond to the new HSK exam requirements.In China,there are only a few studies on the teaching books used in Russia.Chinese scholars have not looked deep into the topic we are studying yet. |
