Study On The Use Of Relief Technique In Chinese Ancient Circular Sculpture

This paper takes the buddhist statue of longxing temple in shandong province as the starting point to study the historical reason and aesthetic basis for the use of relief technique in traditional Chinese round carving.Gupta from India art and the influence of "tsao water" painting style,together with the local improvement of ancient Chinese artists,make indigenous buddhist images represented by buddhist images bodhisattva sculpture style style preliminary established,formed in the round to complanation,combining with the characteristics such as line,body local compression this extremely has the Chinese characteristic in the form of a language.The author through to the bodhisattva sculpture buddhist statues of qingzhou museum site investigation and traditional folk clay sculpture teacher communication,and refer to the related literature,on one of the representative works of interpretation and analysis,summarized the influence factors of the form language has three,namely the historical environment,the buddhist images of unique visual perception habits and traditional thinking.This kind of creation tradition with implicit expression and unique induction still has a very important influence on the current sculpture creation.Meanwhile,it is urgent for practitioners and theorists to fully develop the creation method and aesthetic value of the local traditional sculpture.The purpose of this study is to enlighten our sculptors in their creation through this formal language(the use of relief technique in circular sculpture).
