In recent years,in order to alleviate the tension of oil and gas resources, both domestic and foreign countries have made great progress in exploration and development of unconventional oil and gas resources such as shale gas hydrate, natural gas hydrate and so on.However,China is still in its infancy in this field, and there is still a certain gap compared with the advanced international level.Aiming at realizing the commercial development of natural gas hydrate, our government is increasing the investment.By translating Exploration and Production of Oceanic Natural Gas Hydrate: Critical Factors for Commercialization, the target readers will have a systematic understanding about oceanic natural gas hydrate exploration and development and other related knowledge. What's more, for some researchers,it is conducive to master current situation on the development of natural gas hydrate all over the world. The translation practice report consists of four parts: task description, translation process description, case analysis and conclusion.Based on the translation of ‘Energy Resource Risk Factors',on the one hand, guided by communicative translation proposed by Peter Newmark, the author has made the analysis of concrete examples at the lexical, syntactic and textual levels,so as to be faithful in content and smooth in language. On the other hand, having concluded and analyzed other problems occurred in the translation process, the translator has summarized accordingly, aiming at improving the forthcoming translation of technical text.
