This is a report on translation of Algal Biorefineries Volume 2: Products and Refinery Design(Excerpt).The eleventh and the sixteenth chapters mainly focus on how to transform microalgae biorefinery waste into valuable products and the technology of turning microalgae bio-oil into bio-diesel.This translation report can be divided into four parts.The first one is task description,in which task background,objectives and significance of the task are discussed.The second part is process description,which includes pre-translation preparation,such as professional knowledge learning,the building of a glossary of terminologies,translation tools preparation and theoretical preparation,and translation process like analysis of EST texts,expression and revision.The third part is the core of the report.Under the guidance of the Text Type Theory,the author analyses key and difficult cases in detail at lexical,syntactic and discourse levels based on his translation.At the end of the report,solutions to difficult problems and limitations are concluded.The translator expects the translation can offer some inspiration as well as guidance to those who are engaged in algal biorefineries.
