The realization of the great rejuvenation dream of the Chinese nation must be based on cultural self-confidence.Systematic study of Chinese traditional culture,inheritance and promotion of excellent traditional culture can enhance cultural confidence.Cultural creators are the starting point of cultural communication.Studying the Chinese and foreign famousness of Chinese artists is an evaluation of the effect of cultural communication,which is of great significance to the spread of Chinese art and even Chinese culture.This thesis combines qualitative research with quantitative research,and uses the digital book database of Google Books and Du Xiu Books to use the word frequency as an indicator to measure the popularity of the artist,clarify the Chinese and foreign popularity of the selected Chinese artists,and list the popularity rankings.Comparison between China and foreign countries,to analyze the law of Chinese artists' popularity of Chinese and foreign cultures.The research of this thesis shows that from a macro perspective,the degree of acceptance of Chinese artists in the different languages of Chinese and English is not completely consistent;the characteristics of different categories of art are different.The overseas communication of calligraphy art is at a disadvantage as a whole,and the frequency of calligraphers' words is far lower than that of other artists.The most prominent achievements in Chinese and foreign literary and artistic achievements are the Tang and Song Dynasties.The two literary forms of Tang poetry and Song dynasty are far more famous than other literary forms.As the dynasty is closer to modern times,the genre of painting has a good effect on the spread of painting art.From a microscopic point of view,the artist's achievements are the key factors determining the Chinese artists' popularity at home and abroad.At the same time,the artist's identity and personality characteristics are also significantly related to their popularity.Through the large-scale data processing of well-known,it can reflect the dissemination of artists in different cultural backgrounds from a large time and space scale,and supplement and corroborate the traditional subjective qualitative evaluation methods.However,the research method of introducing big data into art communication is still at the trial stage.This paper is only a quantitative method adopted in the measurement of popularity.The research on the factors affecting the popularity of artists still adopts the traditional description method,and the interpretation may not be comprehensive.
