The source texts of this translation report are from the renowned medical journal The Lancet: 1.Primary care-led weight management for remission of type 2 diabetes(DiRECT): an open-label,cluster-randomised trial;2.Genomic insights into the causes of type 2 diabetes. The two papers describe weight management for remission of type 2 diabetes and genomic studies. The report mainly discusses difficulties at lexical level and syntactic level commonly seen in medical translation of the report and their solutions. The author analyzes the source texts according to Katharina Reiss' s text typology. As the source texts belong to the informative text, the translator should transmit the information accurately. The author uses computer-aided translation(CAT)software memoQ.In the case analysis, the author discusses solutions to difficulties at lexical level with the help of online resources and the translation of long and complex sentences with the use of translation techniques: division, combination, shift of part of speech and inversion of word order. After translation, the translator invites expert in related areas to review it.The report shows that the application of memoQ can help maintain consistency of terms and format. For the translation of difficult terms, online resources can help determine the meaning of words. For the translation of long and complex sentences, various translation techniques should be adopted appropriately. To ensure the quality of translation,it is essential that experts in related areas should be invited to review and proofread the whole translation. The report is practically useful for enriching the medical translation regarding management and prevention of diabetes.
