| The translation report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the India Energy Outlook 2021,which was released by the International Energy Agency(IEA)in Feb.2021 and mainly analyzes the current status of India’s traditional energy and new energy,the impact of India’s energy development on India and the implication to the world.The Translator translates the first two chapters of the IEA publication.The chosen chapters mainly introduce the current status of India’s traditional energy and new energy,and urbanization and industrialization in India.In order to ensure term consistency and improve translation efficiency,the Translator adopts computer-aided translation tools such as Déjà Vu X3,Deep L Translate and ABBYY Fine Reader 15 to complete this translation task.Due to the difficulties in the translation of long sentences,which frequently appear in a large number in the source text,the Translator mainly focuses on the translation techniques of long sentences occurred in the source text.This Report consists of four chapters.Chapter 1 describes the task,analyzes the text features of source text,presents basic requirements to the translation.Chapter 2 describes the translation process,which includes pre-translation preparations and machine translation post-editing(MTPE),with the former including using character recognition tools to recognize the source text,project creation,creation of termbase and translation memory,file analysis and machine translation,and the latter including the editing of target segments,quality assurance(QA)and translation export.In Chapter 3,the Translator analyzes the source text and target text,and classifies the long sentences into four categories.Some cases are chosen for analysis to explore the translation techniques used in translation.Chapter 4 is the conclusion.This Report is only based on the said translation task,and thus may have some limitations.However,the analytical methods the Translator presented are of reference significance for the practice and teaching of EST translation. |
