A Report On The Translation Of Installation Art News Vocabulary From The Perspective Of Functional Equivalence Theory

The article is a translation report of Installation Art news.Installation Art came from abroad and most of its news is not known to Chinese people.So its translation has certain practical significance.Through analysis,the author finds that the words of installation Art news have four characteristics such as specialty,originality,artistry and objectivity.Meanwhile,it contains a large number of proper nouns and technical words which bring certain difficulties to the translation.This translation report discusses three major difficulties in the process of translation like proper nouns,technical words and sub-technical words as well as the polish of common words.Six specific translation methods such as transliteration,free translation,transliteration combined with free translation,explanation,annotation,zero translation are discussed from the perspective of Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory.Moreover,the influence of textual content,audiovisual effects,and target readers on the word translation of Installation Art news are also analyzed in case analysis.It is expected that this report could provide a certain reference for the translation practice of similar texts.
