MoYan,who was active as a novelist,began his literary career as a drama.Alt hough he had never created another drama for many years,he had never really putd own the drama.Not only does he has dramatic features of many of his novels,he has written three plays and two operas since 1999,and now we can call him a playwright as well as a novelist.There is a unique personal imprint on Moyan's drama,especially its language: poetic,isolated and other characteristics,and this is also produced under the influence of his theatrical concept.This article probes into the drama language of Mo Yan from three aspects.First,it analyzes the language traits of dramas from the attributes of literature and stage.Without a doubt,Mo Yan has been outstanding in literature,and his drama language has been filled with emotional expressions,rhythms and multiple monologues that are poetic,and solemnness and humor are both highlighted by combining elegance with folkways.However,the lack of sufficient motions found in Mo Yan's drama language on stage will lead to slow progress of plots and motionless stage.Secondly,it comes to analyze the cause behind the language features,with a main focus on the connection of Mo Yan's drama concept and Guo Moruo.Lastly,it touches upon how the drama creation of Mo Yan can act as meaningful references to our drama creation today.As a novelist,Mo Yan made his shift to a new field of drama creation,for which he demonstrated excellent skills in story-telling,which is something we should learn.However,the lack of motions,which are crucial to theatricality,in his drama language cannot be overlooked.
