If the tone sandhi is regarded as a pure linguistic tone sandhi,many problems about tone sandhi in dialects can not be well explained.In recent years,more and more dialectal materials have proved that tone sandhi is closely related to rhythm,grammar and pragmatics.On the basis of field work and investigation,thisthesis aims to analyse the tone sandhi system of Pumen dialect in Xindu Town,Hezhou,Guangxi,combining traditional dialect survey method and experimental phonetics method,focused on the tone sandhi of two-character group and three-character group,and try to analyze its influencing factors.There are totally six chapters.Chapter one briefly introduces the present situation of human geography and dialectresearch of xindu.Besides,it mentions the research significance and methods of thispaper.Chapter two focuses on generalizing the phonetic systems and features of Pumen dialect,it includes vowles,consonants and pitchs.Chapter three summarizes the tone sandhi types of two-character groups under pure phonetic environment and grammatical conditions respectively.and then draws pitch diagrams of each tone sandhi type by using experimental methods,describes and analyses specific tone sandhi situations.Chapter four analyses the tone sandhi of three-character group under pure phonetic environment,rhythm and grammar conditions,and summarizes the tone sandhi of four-character group.Chapter five analyses the influencing factors of tone sandhi in Xindu Pumen dialect from the aspects of tone classification,lexicalization,semantics and pragmatics.Finally,it comes to the conclusion that the tone sandhi of Pumen dialect in Xindu Town is not a pure tone sandhi,but a comprehensive tone sandhi influenced by many factors,such as pronunciation,grammar and pragmatics.
