Xinshao country, located in the middle south part of Hunan Province, which subject to the rule of Shaosyang city, is composed of a part of Xinhua country as well as Xinshao country in 1951. The Niangxi town we mentioned in this thesis used belongs to Xinshao country, and Pinshang town was a part of Xinhua country. This thesis not only bases on the investigating in the locality, describes the Phonological system of Niangxi Dialect and Pingshang Dialect, but also emphasises on Pingshang Dialect, and does comparative study on Niangxi Dialect, Pingshang Dialect and Shaoyang Dialect as well as Xinhua Dialect by using comparison and statistical methods. Thus, reveals the phonological character of those two dialects and the phonological influence of language contact.The thesis includes five chapters:The first chapter is introductions. This chapter introduces the location, the history, the populations and the condition of major informants.The second chapter is the phonological system of Niangxi dialect: This chapter describes the initials,finals and tones of Niangxi dialect. In addition, I compile the syllabary of Niangxi dialect.The third chapter is the phonological system of Pingshang dialect. This chapter describes the initials,finals and tones of Pingshang dialect. In addition, I compile the syllabary of Pingshang dialect.The fourth chapter is the phonological character of Niangxi Dialect and Pingshang Dialect, and the comparison between them. This chapter analyzes the phonological character of those two Dialects separately, and then using the form of charts, starting with Pingshang Dialect, does the comparative analysis from initial,final and the tones for those two dialects.The fifth chapter is conclusion. This chapter mainly concludes the content of the whole thesis.
