A Study On The Architecture And Value Of Imperial Examination Architecture In Qing Dynasty

The important political system of imperial examination in ancient China,which lasted from Sui Dynasty to the end of Qing Dynasty,did not abrogate because of the change of dynasties,showing strong stability and vitality.As a basic political system,it deeply affects the country's politics,literary fashion,educational activities,and even social customs.The imperial examination architecture is the place where the imperial examination was held in ancient times.It is the tangible carrier of the imperial examination system,which embodies the selection principle of the imperial examination system of “public examination,fair competition and selection of merit”,which still have great practical significance.It is the important representative of the cultural heritage of the imperial examination and the unique and tangible testimony of the imperial examination system,because of the origin of the imperial examination system and the development of the imperial examination system,and the loss of the use value because of the abolition of the imperial examination system,which is an important representative of the cultural heritage of the imperial examination system.The imperial examination architecture in the Qing Dynasty was divided into kao-peng,shi-yuan and other buildings for tong-shi,and Examination Hall for Provincial Examination,Shuntian Examination Hall for the examination,and Imperial Palace-Baohedian for the Palace Examination(in the Hall of Supreme Harmony at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty).These imperial examination buildings,which hold tong-shi,the Provincial examination and the Palace Examination,have strong practicability and consistency in regulating the process and standard of imperial examination.Imperial examination architecture is a typical urban cultural heritage,the existing number is small,and the preservation of the situation is not satisfactory.Among the buildings holding tong-shi,Some of the buildings were preserved;Among the building where Provincial Examination are held,Some of the buildings were preserved in Jiangnan Examination Hall,Henan Examination Hall,Guangdong Examination Hall,Gansu Examination Hall and Yunnan Examination Hall.The imperial examination architecture is an important testimony of the imperial examination system from the view of the relevant laws and regulations of the cultural relics in our country.The elaborate structure and strict regulation of imperial examination system reflect the fair and efficient connotation of imperial examination system.At the same time,it takes its own architecture as the carrier,collects,studies,and displays the cultural connotation of imperial examination,which has the value of history,art,science,society and culture.From the international standards of cultural heritage selection,the imperial examination architectural joint heritage has the dual authenticity of history and architecture.It is in the material structure,visual landscape and cultural connotation of three aspects of integrity.It has “outstanding universal value”.
