A Comparative Study On The Usages Of The Suggested Function Words Of "Yaobu" "Haishi" "Buru" And "Zuihao"

In the context of the Interactional Linguistics,based on the common suggestion functions of function words "yaobu","haishi",”buru” and "zuihao",this thesis systematically compares the usage differences of the four words in the process of expression from the perspective of the speaker,and analyses the causes of the differences in the aspects of lexicalization,semantic and cognitive pragmatic function.The paper will expound this topic from five parts.The details are as follows.Chapter 1 is introduction,which explains the reason for choosing the subject,elaborates the purpose and literature review,and shows methodologies of research and corpus sources.The important part of this chapter is literature review.It outlines the accomplishments of existing studies and indicates their shortcomings.The existing researches mainly study one word of "yaobu","haishi",”buru” and "zuihao" from the aspects of syntax,semantics,pragmatics,lexicalization,or grammaticalization,etc,but rarely systematically study the differences of suggested usage of the four words.Chapter 2 is the usage differences of the function words of "yaobu","haishi",”buru” and "zuihao",which is the most important part of the full text.From the perspective of the speaker,their differences are reflected in three aspects: the attention tendency of speaker,the subjectivity of speaker and the attitudinal stance of speaker.In the first aspect,speaker chooses the four words according to their changing attention tendency to both speaker and listener.“yaobu” reflects higher attention to listener;“zuihao” reflects higher attention to speaker;“haishi” and “buru”reflects similar attention to both speaker and listener.In the second aspect,according to the sentential forms differences of the four words,we finally sum up that the subjectivity of the four words is enhanced from left to right in turn: “yaobu” <“haishi” < “buru” < “zuihao”.In the third aspect,the four words reflect different attitudinal stances of speaker.“yaobu” reflects the incertitude of speaker;“haishi”reflects the insistent attitude of speaker;“buru” images that speaker affirms the comparative dominance of his advice;“zuihao” images that speaker stresses the absolute dominance of his advice.Chapter 3 is the linguistic internal causes of the usage differences of the function words of “yaobu”,“haishi”,“buru” and “zuihao”,which include lexicalization and synchronic semantics.The four words have different components and different lexicalization approaches.These differences gradually evolve into different expression effects and reflect in all Lexical meanings.Besides,their different lexicalization approaches reflect four different suggested ways.Chapter4 is the pragmatic causes of the usage differences of the function words of “yaobu”,“haishi”,“buru” and “zuihao”.In the context of the Interactional Linguistics,the pragmatic factors that affect the suggested usage differences of the four words include interpersonal relation,epistemic status and recipient design.Chapter 5 summarizes the research conclusions of this paper.
