A Practice Report On Whispering Simultaneous Interpreting For Nobel Biocare Xiaohonghe^TM Certification Authorization Conference

This thesis is based on a Chinese-English whispering simultaneous interpreting practice about oral medicine for the Nobel Biocare Xiaohonghe^TM Certification Authorization Conference.Introduced by Beijing Zhishang Huayun Co.Ltd,the author completed this practice in Beijing International Hotel on May 18,2019 by providing whispering simultaneous interpreting service to Zannar Ossit,a doctor of oral implantology,and his assistant,in the parts of the speeches by two hosts,the key speeches of some dental experts and an international forum.In this practice report,the author applies some interpreting strategies such as appropriate adjustment,reasonable simplification,syntactic linearity and cultural transformation under the guidance of the interpretive theory to solve the problems during the process of interpreting and finishes this report by analyzing some typical cases.The practice report consists of five chapters: task description,preparations for the interpreting,process description,case analysis and conclusion.Chapter 1 introduces the source,content,characteristic,purpose and significance of this practice project.Chapter 2 elaborates preparations for the interpreting in two parts: short-term preparations and temporary preparations,of which the short-term ones are some specific preparations including the search of background information,the establishment of the glossary and the further study of relevant interpreting theories.Chapter 3 expounds the interpreting process in three aspects: unexpected situation,psychological influence and energy allocation.Chapter 4 is the main part of this report,which analyzes some successful and unsuccessful cases under the interpretive theory and puts forward solutions for the unsuccessful ones.The last chapter is a conclusion about the experience and limitations of this interpreting practice.Hopefully,these summaries will be helpful to the next interpreting practices and to other relevant interpreters.
