| The paper is written in the form of translation practice report according to the requirements of MTI thesis,consisting of translation practice and translation report.The translation practice material is selected from the book Insight into Linhai,with 10046 words.There is no official English version of it yet.The author finished her writing of the translation report based on the translation practice.The report is composed of five chapters: project description,translation process,introduction to the source text,case analysis and summary.Based on Newmark’s text type theory,the report mainly explores the translation strategies and methods of culture-loaded words,four-character phrases,run-on sentences and ellipsis of subject followed by representative examples.According to Newmark’s text type theory,the source text belongs to informative text and vocative text.Thus it is proper to adopt the communicative translation strategy.The frequently adopted translation methods in the translation practice are literal translation,free translation,transliteration plus notes,literal translation plus notes and free translation plus notes.The report aims to summarize the translation strategies and methods of the tourism texts through this translation practice and provide reference for the practice and research of the local tourism translation. |
