Lexical Translation In Make Ours Marvel: Media Convergence And A Comics Universe

This paper is a translation report.The original text of the practical project is part of Make Ours Marvel:Media Convergence And A Comics Universe commissioned by Professor Pan Suyue of East China University of Political Science and Law.The text is a compound text in academic discourse.These chapters focus on the transmedia phenomenon of Marvel,explaining in detail Marvel's transmedia narrative strategy and its internal logic.This article mainly consists of four parts.The first part mainly introduces the translation project,focusing on the explanation of the translation process and the analysis of the text.The second part elaborates the principles of vocabulary translation,which can be roughly divided into the following four types: accuracy principle,readability principle,transparency principle and consistency principle.The process of elaboration will be analyzed with specific examples in translation.The third part focuses on the specific methods of vocabulary translation,such as consulting dictionaries,combining context,adding or subtracting appropriately,respecting original translation and transliteration,etc.Like the third part,the author will select specific examples in translation practice to explain the methods in detail.The fourth part is a summary of this translation practice project,summarizing the achievements and suggestions in translation practice.
