Buster Keaton is the pioneer of action comedy in the silent film era of America.Keaton's silent comedy that created between 1917-1929 is creative because of the innovation and exploration of cinematic language.In addition,these films turn the American middle class cultural into screen vision.This thesis analyzes the generation of creative ideas of Buster Keaton's film by interpreting the text of Buster Keaton's films.The creativity of Keaton's films includes the creative generation method in the production process of the film,the expression of American middle class value of culture.The introduction part of the thesis expounds the significance of the topic and the purpose of the research,summarizes the current research status at home and abroad,and introduces the research ideas and methods adopted in this thesis.The main part of the thesis consists of three chapters contain eleven sections.The first chapter gives an overview of the development of American silent comedy film,explores the historical background and artistic origin of Keaton's comedy creation,and analyzes the reasons why Keaton pioneered action comedy.The second chapter analyzes and summarizes the creative creation methods of Keaton's films from four aspects: the theme of pursue love,the comedy art of body and props,the special visual effects expression of scene,and the exploration of road movie in genre film field.The third chapter studying the formation of movie creativity from the perspective of culture values by analyze the method that Keaton's films present the American middle class.The culture values in Keaton's films are based on American middle class culture.Most of the characters created by Keaton's films are middle class.The female image in Keaton's films has also changed with the times,from traditional women to college students,and then from college students to new women in the workplace.Keaton's film expresses the cultural quality of the middle class who love animals as well.In addition,due to the different social classes that the film lens focuses on,Keaton's image of “gentleman youth” and Chaplin's “wanderer” image show different aesthetic interests.The conclusion part discusses how Chinese films present Chinese culture and Chinese values better by referring to the expression path of ideological and artistic in Keaton's film.
