A Comparative Study On The Theory Of Character Shaping Of Hasbao And Mao Zonggang

Hasbao is an epoch-making literary theorist and translator in the history of Mongolian novel theory.It is known to all that while inheriting the Mongolian novel theory,Hasbao learned from Jin Shengtan,Mao Zonggang and other novel theorists,enriched the heritage of Mongolian literary theory and vigorously promoted the exchange of Mongolian and Chinese literature.Mao Zonggang was a literary critic who lived in the early Qing Dynasty.His criticism of novel has become a classic in the history of Chinese fiction criticism.This thesis makes a comparative study of the similarities and differences in the creation of character image between Hasbao and Mao Zonggang.According to the law of inheritance and innovation of literature development,it is of great significance to compare the writing skills and ideological connotation of Hasbao with the ancient Chinese literature,especially the novel theory of Ming and Qing Dynasty,so as to grasp the track of Hasbao’s learning from the Chinese classical novel theory and explore the uniqueness of his literary theory.This thesis consists of three parts: Introduction,Body and Conclusion.Introduction,which is review of the resaerch status of character image.In addition,author briefly summarizes the comments on the novels of the Ming and Qing Dynasty and the relevant issues studied by Mao Zonggang and Hasbao.The text is divided into four chapters.The first three chapters analyze in detail the similarities and differences between Hasbao and Mao Zonggang in the characterization skills from the aspects of character shaping,character relationship setting and character appearance arrangement.In the fourth chapter,by comparing the similarities and differences between Hasbao and Mao Zonggang in the creation of characters,it is concluded that Hasbao not only learned from the commenting tradition of Jin Shengtan and Mao Zonggang,but also expanded and enhanced the connotation of Mongolian novel criticism with his unique views,and constructed the literary theory of Mongolian novel.
