A Comparative Study On The Comments Of Hasbao,Zhang Xinzhi And Lin Daiyu

A Dream of Red Mansions is one of the four Great classical novels of China,and is also a masterpiece of Chinese classical novels.Since its publication,it has attracted wide attention from the academic circle.Especially on the issue of character image,the reologists expressed their own opinions and commented from their own understanding,to clarify the character image and the ideological connotation embodied in Cao Xueqin’s works.Among the many characters in A Dream of Red Mansions,Lin Daiyu,a female figure,has attracted much attention and received mixed reviews.Among them,Hasbao and Zhang Xinzhi’s comments on Lin Daiyu are particularly distinctive.This paper is mainly from the perspective of literature and art,comparative literature,text hermeneutics of the comments on a Dream of Red Mansions by Hasbao and Zhang Xinzhi,and from the two aspects of Lin Daiyu’s personal image and Bao Dai love,Hasbao and Zhang Xinzhi’s character theory comparative study,in addition to summarizing the similarities and differences of their views,explore their causes.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction is mainly to explain Hasbao’s status in the history of redology from the perspective of the history of Mongolian and Chinese literary exchange and the history of Chinese novel theory,and to explain the general situation of Hasbao’s research.The main text includes three chapters.The first chapter is the image of Lin Daiyu in Hasbao’s comments.In his comments,Hasbao expressed his full affirmation of Lin Daiyu’s image and Bao Dai’s love with the words "an unparalleled beauty" and "once in a blue moon",and expressed his pity for Lin Daiyu’s personal and love tragedy with the words "Even the heart of a stone should be broken" and "the hatred of a thousand generations".The second chapter is the image of Lin Daiyu in Zhang Xinzhi’s comments.Zhang Xinzhi mainly criticizes Lin Daiyu,saying that Lin is an "honest person" who is "not good at dealing with things".However,he praises Lin Daiyu’s emotion and Bao Dai’s love,saying that they are "single-minded" and "no guess between the two",which ultimately leads to the tragic outcome because of Lin’s character and the decadence of the society at that time.The third chapter is the comparison of Hasbao and Zhang Xin’s comments on Lin Daiyu,mainly from the perspectives of Hasbao and Zhang Xinzhi’s ideological tendency and aesthetic observation,and analyzes the similarities and differences between the two critics and their causes,and draws more profound conclusions.
