English writing occupies a large proportion in high school English learning.As one of the basic skills of English learning,it has always been highly valued by English learners.English writing is an output skill,which focuses on learners' overall grasp of vocabulary,grammar,sentence pattern and discourse.Continuation is a new attempt in English writing teaching.Continuation was first proposed by Professor Wang(2012)which was considered to be an efficient way to improve English writing.Continuation is to remove the end of the reading material,and the learner will continue to write the ending reasonably after reading the material.Learners need to read back reading materials before writing.The closer the learner with the reading materials,the better the learning effect.However,how to link Continuation with senior high school students' English writing teaching? From this point of view,the author decided to apply Continuation to senior high school students' English writing with the method of action research to explore the impact of Continuation on senior high school students' writing.Through this study,the author answers the following two major questions: 1)How to apply Continuation to students' writing teaching? 2)What is the change of students' English writing performance after Continuation action research? What has changed in writing attitude? What are the changes in writing motivation?The author's research object is 32 students in 3 class of High School in L City,S Province.The duration of the study is 12 teaching weeks,and classes are held every Friday.In the study,the author used research tools such as tests,interview outlines and questionnaires.Before the action started,the author conducted a pre-test,interview and questionnaire survey on the students,and found that the students had low writing skills,less vocabulary,less grammar knowledge,more spelling errors,and lower interest in writing.After formulating an action plan for pre-action problems and after two rounds of action research,test tools,interviews and questionnaires were used again.After the materials were collected uniformly,SPSS 23.0 was used to perform paired sample T test on the before and after test results.The questionnaire results were compared and analyzed,and the interview results were collected and sorted out.Research indicated that after two rounds of Continuation actions,The students' English writing scores has improved significantly,their English writing attitudes has been improved,and their interest in English writing has improved.In the end,this study summarized the enlightenment and shortcomings of Continuation.
