| This report is based on 20 pieces of English campus news from Saikr Website,which provides information about various competitions for college students.According to the features of those source texts,strategies of translating English campus news to Chinese are discussed.In the light of relevance theory,this report focus on the choice of domestication and foreignization in translating campus news from English to Chinese.After careful study,both domestication and foreignization are used at the level of titles,words,phrases and sentences in accordance with the cognitive contexts of the source language and the target language.There are five parts in this report.Part one is the description of this translation task and the text analysis of the campus news;part two briefly introduces relevance theory and translation strategies—domestication and foreignization;part three recounts the translating process;part four illustrates with examples how relevance theory casts light on the choice of domestication and foreignization in the news translation;and part five draws a conclusion of this report.. |
