Lead-in,also known as “opening”,initially appears in classroom teaching in the form of “warm-up activities”,mainly activities related to teaching content designed in the first few minutes before the new course teaching activities.Although the time of lead-in is very limited in English class,its function is very prominent.As a basic step for English teachers to organize teaching,the success of the strategy can effectively stimulate students' interest and motivation in English learning and make teaching activities both relaxed and enjoyable.Therefore,the effect of English classroom teaching is closely related to the lead-in of teaching.However,in the actual teaching of English classroom,teachers often formalize or hasten the lead-in of teaching,or even neglect it,which makes the beginning of the classroom ineffective.Based on this,the key to the success of English classroom lies in whether the lead-in designed by teachers can produce suspense and arouse students' strong curiosity.The study mainly includes the following research questions: 1)What are the main methods of lead-in and thier influence on the teaching effect in junior middle school English classroom? 2)What are the relationship between the lead-in of junior middle school English classroom and students' learning interest,learning participation,learning attitude ?In the study,the author selected 150 students as the survey object from Y middle school in Baicheng.Through classroom observation,questionnaire survey and interview,the author draws the following conclusions: Firstly,there are many ways of lead-in in junior middle school,such as review lead-in,multimedia lead-in,question lead-in and so on.More commonly used are multimedia lead-in and question lead-in,etc.Secondly,the lead-in of junior middle school teaching can improve students' interest in English learning,students' participation in the classroom,and thus affect students' English learning.Thirdly,there are some deficiencies in the current English classroom teaching,which do not reflect the students' subjectivity and needs.Therefore,it is still necessary to explore the lead-in of English classroom teaching in junior middle school.
