Lead-in is the first step in English teaching.It just takes a few minutes in the English class.While it plays an important role in English teaching.The English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)(Ministry of Education,2011)asks English teachers who are teaching in the junior middle school to use modern teaching-skills in English teaching to help to improve English-teaching efficiency.In fact,there are a few problems about the design of Lead-in activities with the multimedia,giving rise to an unsatisfactory effect.Therefore,the paper explores the lead-in activities of the 12 th national junior middle school English demonstration lectures with the way of classroom observation and script analysis.Taking the twenty-two videos of English demonstration lecture which is hold in Zhengjiang in 2017 as an example.And then the paper put forward the following three questions: What are the methods of lead-in activities with multimedia in 12 th national junior middle school English demonstration lectures? What are the features of lead-in activities with multimedia in 12 th national junior middle school English demonstration lectures?What are the functions of lead-in activities with multimedia in 12 th national junior middle school English demonstration lectures?Through the research,it concludes that according to different contents,22 excellent English teachers choose to corresponding multimedia(PPT、music、video)to design variety lead-in activities.Different approachs of lead-in activities in English demonstration lectures,the functions of lead-in activities are diversified.Be active、intuition and interactive are the main feature in English demonstration lectures.Because of the different features,the functions of lead-in activities are different.Class is active and learning objects are clear.In conclusion,this paper suggests that English teachers who are not good at designing lead-in activities should realize the improtance of lead-in activities;they should apply interesting activities to their classes with multimedia.Besides,teachers should make their class more active、interactive and intuition.
