In the new era of the development and transformation of socio-economic momentum, culture has become a new breakthrough to promote China's economic development with its green, environmentally friendly and sustainable characteristics. Therefore,as a concept cultural capital that connects culture and economy,it has gradually entered the vision of scholars and became Another important explanatory variable for economic growth. At the same time, major changes have taken place in the tourism industry. The traditional "ticket economy" no longer plays an important role in the development of the tourism economy, and the increase in people's requirements for tourism quality and experience also provides new ideas for the development of the tourism economy. There is a natural connection between culture and tourism. It can be said that tourism itself is a cultural activity, and culture is the inherent "soul" of the development of tourism.Due to the complexity and diversity of cultural connotation,we cannot directly measure the driving role of culture in tourism. Therefore, this article introduces the concept of cultural capital into the field of tourism economy, and explores the cultural capital stock in 31 provinces in China from the perspective of spatial correlation and the spatial effect of tourism economic development.Based on the related theories of resource endowment and cultural capital reproduction, this study combined with previous scholars' related research to build a set of cultural capital stock estimation index system that is in line with the actual cultural development of our country. The stock of cultural capital in provincial administrative regions is estimated and ranked.Subsequently, the stock of cultural capital was used as the core explanatory variable affecting the development of the tourism economy, and a spatial econometric model was introduced with the tourism production factors such as the tertiary industry's dominance, tourism infrastructure, transportation convenience, tourism service level, and tourism resource endowment. This paper analyzes the spatial correlation characteristics of the provincial cultural capital stock and tourism economy in China from 2011 to 2017,and analyzes the impact of cultural capital stock on the tourism economy and space spillover effects. The results show that:(1)The cultural capital stocks of different provincial administrative regions in China are quite different, but their rankings have not changed much, showing a certain stability. And among the indicators that affect the stock of cultural capital, tangible cultural capital plays a more important role.(2)There are significant spatial correlations and agglomeration characteristics between the provincial cultural capital stock and the development of tourism economy in China, and they are characterized by high-value agglomerations and low-value agglomerations, but overall high-value agglomeration areas are increasing.(3)China's provincial cultural capital stock and the development of tourism economy have a significant positive effect and have a significant space spillover effect in adjacent areas. Therefore,we should pay attention to the transformation of cultural resources into cultural capital, strive to explore local characteristics of cultural resources, promote "cultural and tourism integration",coordinate various factors, and jointly promote the development of China's tourism economy.
