Wax painting is the use of wax paint for painting.It is said that in the 4th century BC,the ancient greeks invented wax painting.Wax painting originated from the Greek word "enkaustikos-in",meaning "fusion",and its painting techniques are both ancient and novel.With the development of oil painting,it was gradually forgotten until the old wax painting techniques of the 19 th century were rediscovered and returned to the stage of painting.The core of this paper is the combination of the research on the techniques of wax painting materials and my own painting practice,so that I can show my research results in multiple dimensions.In the macro aspect,this paper can be divided into four chapters,namely the following two parts:The first part is corresponding to the first two chapters of the text,mainly involving the wax painting theory overview.Including 1,the formation of wax painting,materials and two techniques.2.My understanding of modern and contemporary wax painting mainly takes jasper Johns as a case for analysis.The second part corresponds to the last two chapters of the text,which mainly involves the practical application of wax painting,and mainly describes the creative process of my wax painting and the enlightenment to me.Here is the focus of this paper,namely how to integrate theoretical research into my painting practice.In the historical and cultural context,I expressed the importance of learning the painting language of wax painting,and looked forward to the magnificent development prospect of wax painting.
