The Application Practice Of "Free" Format Design In Book Design

"Free" format design has become a trend in the field of visual communication.It just gives new definition to layout form,and layout design is a whole,do not talk about it alone.The concept of free design increases the emotional resonance between the reader and the designer as well as between the content and the reader,and improves the reader’s perception of the concept of free format design in the works.It is a new way of artistic expression for visual communication and a new starting point for the diversified development of format design.This paper is a study on"free" format in book design,which breaks the rules and integrates" free" format design into children’s books,so that children can have fun from it and fall in love with books.That’s the purpose of this exploration.After understanding the development process of "free" format design,this paper takes the design characteristics of "free" format design as the starting point,analyzes various features of free format design,and integrates them with traditional stories in children’s books through graduation design from some elements,colors and emotions.This article,divided into three chapters the first chapter is introduction,"free" format design development background,as well as the purpose and significance of this study,in the end,is the exploration research innovation point,key aspects from "free" format before research,use different perspective to make the two together,for children’s books format design into a new attempt and discovery.The second chapter is an introduction to" free" format design,which is divided into four parts,including its meaning,artistic characteristics,aesthetic characteristics and some practical inspirations.The third chapter is about graduation design.Through the previous exploration,the free format design is combined with the traditional culture "zodiac".The audience of children is indispensable to the absorption of traditional stories,and the application of free format design is to make the perfect integration of traditional culture and modern design,so that children can acquire traditional knowledge in an interesting and effective way.Through the study of the theoretical knowledge,the free format design is understood from more angles,so that each element has a new meaning.And hope that through the combination of children’s books,so that the free format to get a better application.It can enrich the visual experience and spiritual feeling of readers and enrich the expression form of book design.
