Books are essential members of children’s learning and growth process.However,in the era of rapid development of new media,electronic products are gradually replacing paper books as the main medium for children to understand the world and obtain information.In the trend of declining paper books,three-dimensional books are moving upstream,breaking the spatial barriers of traditional book reading and creating a more interesting reading experience for children.They have become an irreplaceable category among children’s books in the era of new media and have received the attention of a large number of experts,scholars,and designers.Compared to foreign countries,the design of children’s three-dimensional books in China started relatively late,and overall,there are still shortcomings.Some books have issues such as age ambiguity,unclear design objectives,and lack of specificity in addressing children’s behavioral and psychological demands.This article is based on the theoretical knowledge of behavioral psychology and conducts research on children aged 0-6 who are in the early stages of school age.Firstly,starting from the concept,the development of three-dimensional books at home and abroad is thoroughly reviewed from the perspective of historical origins.The design elements of children’s three-dimensional books are elaborated from the perspectives of functionality,aesthetics,and innovation,and the theoretical basis of the proponents of behavioral psychology theory is elaborated.The conceptual embodiment in children’s three-dimensional books is explained,and the interaction between the two is explained from the perspective of behavioral psychology and children’s three-dimensional books.Secondly,list the behavioral and psychological characteristics of children and their reading behavior psychology from different dimensions,and summarize the impact of three-dimensional book design on children’s behavioral and psychological development from four perspectives: behavioral language ability,observational imagination ability,logical thinking ability,and aesthetic ability.Starting from four directions: age stage,sensory experience,behavioral operation,and content theme,and supported by excellent three-dimensional book design at home and abroad,Elaborate on the main content of children’s three-dimensional book design based on behavioral psychology.Finally,starting with an analysis of the development prospects of children’s three-dimensional books in the current era,this article looks forward to the future development trend of children’s three-dimensional books in China.It lists the important dimensions provided by behavioral psychology for children’s three-dimensional book design from three aspects:children’s physiological characteristics,emotional factors,and subconscious behavior.From the perspective of design materials and functional innovation,it looks forward to national culture The expansion of the design concept of children’s three-dimensional books in China’s future through the power of technology,family education,and green concepts provides suggestions for the design of children’s three-dimensional books in China.The research of this topic aims to provide children’s book designers and readers in China with a deeper understanding of children’s three-dimensional books based on behavioral psychology,thereby promoting the improvement of the level and quality of three-dimensional book design.We hope to contribute to academic research and application in this field and help explore the development path of children’s three-dimensional books in China.
