The Study Of Synesthetic Dimension Translation

Language is a necessary way of communication in human life,and figures of speech is a tool to improve the effect of language expression.There is a lot of use of synesthesia in mandarin,and translation is the link to convert it into another language.Synesthesia refers to the sense of touch,hearing,sight,taste and smell that are interlinked and integrated with each other and expressed through language description.The proper use of synaesthesia in the text can make the text rich and colorful,vivid images,through the integration of the senses,enhance the uniqueness and appeal of the text.Because synesthesia involves the uniqueness of multiple senses and the richness of its expressive effect,the translation of synesthesia has become a difficult problem.Through the study of the five senses of synesthesia in the form of dimensional translation,this paper finds that in most cases the target language copies the synesthesia of the original,with the same basic senses as the mapped senses and the same mapping approach.In a small number of cases,the synesthesia of the target language is transferred,the basic sense remains unchanged,and the mapping sense changes.The target language retains the synesthetic phraseology,which makes the readers realize the function of synesthetic phraseology.In a few cases,the target language retains the basic sense of synesthesia and omits the mapping sense.The target language removes the synesthetic phraseology,which makes the synesthetic phraseology lose its function and only retains the basic semantic content of the original text.The analysis of synesthesia and gevey translation reveals that there are co-occurrence and co-omission in the target language.If synaesthesia is omitted,so are the others.It is found from the translation method of synesthetic dimension that synesthetic translation can be divided into direct translation,transformation,interpretation,ellipsis,supplement and other translation methods.The choice of translation method depends on whether the target reader can produce the same reading effect as the original reader.In combination with the context,the target reader can choose the semantic meaning that can be understood and accepted by the target reader for translation.It is hoped that the study of this paper can broaden the horizon of the cross-study of translation and rhetoric,provide certain theoretical reference for the study of translation and rhetoric,and provide reference for the expression and application of synaesthesia in translation.
