What we call legato has two meanings: one refers to a piano performance technique that we learners must master, and the other refers to a fluent performance method. The term legato actually originated from Italian opera art,and it was intended to mean a common singing method, namely, smooth singing. After the 16 th century, with the continuous development of instrumental music and instrumental performance,Legato became a commonly used musical term.We can often see the "Legato" logo at the beginning or middle of the score, which shows that at this time,it means the meaning of a term that requires the player to play every note of the melody in a consistent and uninterrupted manner(like Use the same bow on a violin),in simple terms: the sound is connected to the sound. Therefore we also call "Legato" "Lego".This article takes Chopin's Sonata in b-flat minor(Op.35)as an example, and it is divided into three parts. The first part mainly discusses the performance of legato technology in different music periods, and expounds the melody characteristics and requirements of legato in different music periods. The second part combines the work, specifically analyzes the manifestation of the legato in the work, and makes a theoretical analysis of the motivated melody, singing melody and chord pattern in the work,to pave the way for a better grasp and performance of this work To achieve the goal of combining theory with practice. The third part is to make a detailed analysis of how to play the legato technique.Through the manifestation and application of the legato in this work, find out the commonality of the technique point in the teaching of the legato. The first movement of Chopin's Sonata in b-flat minor is the largest of these four movements, and its structure is a sonata style. The performance of this movement is also extremely difficult. There are many technical difficulties that we need to overcome one by one,but currently there are very few studies on technical difficulties. Therefore, the author specifically analyzes and studies the legato technology of the first movement of the work, and uses in-depth,step-by-step performance training methods to help us pave the way for solid piano basic skills before performing works with high coefficients of difficulty,in order to ensure smooth Complete the difficult work to lay the possibility.
