The Research Of A Writer Named Xuyan Of Kinmen In Qing Dynasty

The Kinmen imperial examination reached its peak,during Ming and Qing dynasties,there are a total of 33 Jinshi of Kinmen nationality,and Xuyan was the last Jinshi of Kinmen in the imperial examination period.Xuyan traveled half of his life,dedicated to literary creation,his works include The Poetry of Ningwocaotang with literary and documentary values.However,it has not received the attention of the academic community before,and there is no special study.This paper takes the collection of The Poetry of Ningwocaotang in the national library of China as the research object.This paper studies Xuyan's birth and death,family history,life experience and social contacts through close reading of the text and combining with local Chronicles,genealogy and other materials.Through the interpretation and analysis of Xuyan's works,tries to explore the characteristics of Xuyan's works and his regional writings.Through the field investigation of Kinmen and Tongan,we have a clearer understanding of Xuyan and his family--the Xu family of Zhupu in Kinmen,in order to clarify Xuyan's position in the development history of regional literature in Kinmen and even in southern Fujian.
