A Practice Report On The Translation Of Famous Affinities Of History

With the deepening of globalization,more and more attention has been paid to the political,economical,educational,cultural and all-round exchanges among countries.The most basic bridge for communication between countries is translation,which plays an increasingly important role.The source text of translation practice is excerpted from Chapter Six to Chapter Eight of Famous Affinities of History of Lyndon Orr,which mainly tells the similarity of love stories between royal family members and lovers in different historical periods in Europe.In different countries and periods,similar stories are repeated.The heroine in each chapter makes a great contribution to love,but still ends in tragic.The fourth chapter,with typical examples,is the core of this report.Guided by the Functional Equivalence Theory,the translation techniques used in translation practice are mainly summarized from four aspects of lexical,syntactic,discourse and stylistic equivalence,and the problems encountered in this translation practice have been solved.Through the analysis of the original text before translation,it is concluded that the original text belongs to informative text.Therefore,the attention must be paid to the accuracy and readability of the translation in the process of translation.Based on the consideration of the features of the original text and the target language readers,the Functional Equivalence Theory is used as the guiding theory.Translation techniques such as addition,convention,combination and division are specially applied.Through this practice,the ability to translate is greatly improved.And it is possible for the report to be a reference for the translation or study of such kind of text in the future.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 30...
