At that time,the cognitive level and theoretical research of ancient Chinese people on color was ahead of other nations.Traditional Chinese paintings also had meticulous brushwork and boneless painting methods that emphasized color,and there were brilliant periods,but eventually gave way to the black and white language form with strong philosophical color--pen and ink.Since song dynasty,traditional Chinese literati painting ink "ink points five colours","color can be achieved with ink","color does not hinder the ink,the ink in color" concept of color,ink Xieyi painting in a rejection of the color,make the image color of Chinese painting forms to multiple,and after the evolution of yuan Ming three generations,gradually formed as the programming system of color.The gradual backwardness of science and technology in Chinese traditional feudal society also led to the new discovery that people’s cognition of color would not break through.After the May 4th movement,the introduction of realistic painting and scientific color method in the west in the 20 th century greatly impacted the ideological principles of traditional Chinese painting and brought about changes and problems to traditional Chinese ink painting,that is,how to use color in ink painting.Based on the background of social culture,this paper analyzes the development path of color transformation of Chinese figure painting to modern from the works of urban ink painting painters,and analyzes and forecasts the current situation and breakthrough of color application in Chinese figure painting.This paper adopts the following methods: 1.Work research analysis method: to conduct in-depth research and analysis on the works of contemporary urban ink and wash figure painting artists,and explore the color view and evolution mode of traditional Chinese figure painting,as well as its influence on the creation of contemporary Chinese figure painting.2.Action survey method: in addition to consulting existing survey reports,research papers and relevant statistical data,conduct actual surveys by watching exhibitions,laying a foundation for obtaining correct innovative thinking and creative methods.3.Literature analysis: collect relevant materials from various literatures.4.Induction: theoretical and practical research is conducted from the social background and cultural background at home and abroad by means of induction and summary.5.Summing up the empirical method: based on the in-depth analysis and innovative research on the works,discuss how to promote the development of art in a broader scope.This article through six chapters to elaborate,the first chapter is the introduction;The second chapter is a brief history of the color development of Chinese figure painting,focusing on the analysis of the characteristics of the use of color in traditional Chinese figure painting and the rise and fall of color in the historical process of Chinese figure painting;The third chapter mainly discusses the important influence of the color ink painting represented by Lin fengmian on the transformation of traditional Chinese figure painting to the modern after the introduction of western color concept into China.The fourth chapter is the focus of this paper,trying to analyze the individual cases of color practice of contemporary urban ink painting painters,summarizing and sorting out the urban ink painting art groups on the basis of inheriting the tradition to open up a new vision for the use of color in Chinese figure painting,providing a variety of ideas for the practice and research of contemporary Chinese painting workers in figure painting;Chapter six mainly expounds the inspiration and influence of the study on my creation.
