The year of 2019,being the 100 th birthday of Yin Guifang,has witnessed a most active emergence of Yin's play,which triggered some new thoughts over Yue-Opera.Yin Guifang's art featured in richness in voice and fine emotion in performance,Yin School represented a specific style of mellowness in Yue opera.This dissertation aims to focus on how Yin's plays has developed in the 1950 s and 1960 s,and the contributions that Yin's plays had made to the constructing and maturing of Yue-Opera.Introduction gives an account for the value of this dissertation and delimits the range of discussion within the premiere and the afterwards classic performances.Chapter 1 overviews the innovation of Yin's plays under the influence of grand narrative.They wrote a history when people were saving the nation from subjugation and ensure its survival,displacing the images of the historic heroes with the contemporary revolutionary ones.The modern plays displays the multiple characters of the social model in every occupation or looks back the history of the emancipation of New China.Chapter 2 begins with the Yin's adaption of traditional plays to see how Yin's plays managed to keep the locality of Yue-Opera with the motif of misfortune and imperial examination.Chapter 3 explores Yin's classic roles,which is constructed by male role as its core character.It also examines the features of Yin's performance,which filters gentleness and softness into male characters.Chapter4 discusses how Yin's classics has passed down generation by generation.Finally,the conclusion sums up what the chapters above has discussed and emphasizes the realistic importance of Yin's plays.
