With the improvement of the domestic modern design level, the use of fonts in packaging, posters, web ads is also more and more valued, and the demand for fonts of various adaptive product styles is more and more strong. Many scholars and designers have been involved in this industry early. They have created many excellent fonts for the pursuit of business and academic, including many excellent serif Chinese fonts. However, the development time of font design in China is relatively short, and the exploration on the use and design rules of serif Chinese is relatively weak.In this case,it is of great significance to systematically summarize the design rules of Chinese serif font for the research of font design.Calligraphy font can give people a strong visual impact, and its own cultural heritage is strong,so it has a high application value. However, with the continuous penetration of western culture in China,English fonts are widely used in various industries.English fonts can give people a kind of exotic flavor, and in a short period of time, make people have a sense of freshness and enhance the artistic expression of graphic design. But after years of development, once a mature aesthetic system of self writing design is formed, this superstition will lose part of its charm.Chinese and English serif font design has different but similar historical origins. The close trade between China and other countries in the world has also brought more and more occasions for language sharing.Chinese and English fonts appear more and more frequently at the same time.Under this premise,Chinese and English share some basic rules, such as serif Chinese(Song typeface, etc.)with serif English(Cambria math, etc.),sans serif English font(Helvetica)with sans serif Chinese(black typeface). However, under the premise of this law, further visual collocation law is still worthy of further exploration.
